Default problems please help!

I just recently put a B16 in my 90 hatch. It was running strong and now it runs pore. Every once in a while when i am sitting at a light I can hear a thumping sound but I dont' know what it is. It could be that I have HCP mounts and they vibrate alot. But it just does not fill the same. How do you fry piston rings and can this be a cause of the problem. If I broke something major internally I probably would have heard it and my car probably would not be running right.

Lets say I am sitting at a light and I put my foot on the gas slowly rissing to 1500rpm. As it is rissing it makes small poping noises. not like thigs banging, they are more like bubbles poping. I don't know!

any help would be greatful. I don't know the least thing about what a damaged motor would sound like as in I could not pinpoint it like sopme of you guys could.

thanks alot

I would first check things like plugs wires and dist cap. I sounds as though is could be something simple. Does the car start easily?

yeah it starts easy, but could that cause the problem of those sounds.

I have a new dist. cap, but I have not changed the rotor. I guess I could run up to Honda and pick me one up and try that. thanks

Well,,

Maybe wire on wrong distributor positions. Sounds like big time mis-fire.

Check plug gaps too. Too small a gap can really cause a motor to run crappy.

Use a pencil eracer on the metal piece of dis. rotor and cap. Rub it clean, otherwise replace it, see if that helps. Other than that, my first thought was air bubbles in gas lines.
