Lame, so you think that people on here don't own anything else?
You will probably get quicker answers at a site for the AE86s, but just wait and see if a person with one manages to find this thread.

common just look beyond the square sometimes
if that is happening to the starter just change it
the cost is not that great!!!

well i would say you either have a worn starter gear or you have a bad flywheel and if it is a bad flywheel you gotta pull the tranny to replace it ... so if the price is right and it is in good condition buy it
Pull the starter and check the gear, and if possible check the flywheel teeth while its removed. Or swap in a known good one and see what happens. Either way a new starter isnt much to get a decent car running.
dude, i've been on this site for awhile and it's not like i'm asking how to build a house or something, it's all car related and people who know about hondas will generally know a lil something about cars in general. It's the tech section.
Yah, i was suspecting just changing out the starter if it's worn and worst case scenario is pullin tranny and changing the fly.

Check and make sure it's not the timing belt. They turn awfully easy when one is broken. On the plus side, it's not a crash motor. If it is the starter, put the new on one first before turning in the core. On my old 86 MR2, I turned it in first and the new one did not fit. Big hassle that ended up with a new starter from the dealer $$$.
