Default problem during installing stock cams

Hi guys

Im tried to instal the stock cams(with stock gears.on my stock b16a2 engine.

My belt is off.
crank set to tdc.

When i put the cams in place ,they both rotate a tooth 3 of 4 to the inside..they cant stay still at precise timing marking.

And when it rotated a few theeth then de cams are in there place

I did some fresh oil on it so they wont run dry when i start the engine
Maybe i didnt need to lubricate it ?

Or do i have to install the cams that way and torque the bridge .and then adjust the cams a little bit so the timing marks are okey?

Thnk you guys verry much !

This! Carefully tighten the cams down and them make minor movements for final alignment. Also lubricate everything very well.

Thnx!
I did it before i read your post.

When i torqued the bridge and bolts down they only where both 2 tooths of and i align them by turning the camgears clockwise till the marks are good.

But i think i did somethjng wrong i had to turn the cams counterclockwise...

But if the belt isnt on and cranck is on tdc and you rotate counterclockwise at some point the valves wil hit the piston because you have to make the cam go 360 around...

So i did turn them clockwise...
Is this wrong ?
I had to put some force on the cam because the springs pushing the cam up....

Did i did it the good way ?

Stock cams with stock gears,

1. Set crank to tdc (already done)
2. Install cams close as possible to final alignment marks. A few degrees movement away from alignment is normal.
3. Tighten caps down carefully, slowly and evenly.
4. Line up camshaft marks to correct position.
5. Install belt and release tensioner to relax spring.
6. Rotate crank back and forth a bit to verify marks are correct.
7. Turn crank 720 degrees to settle timing belt in all the sprockets. Reset tension spring again and ensure belt is not loose.

No you should not have damaged anything. When the crank is at tdc you have some movement allowed with the cams and the valve spring tension is normal.
