this morning my car wouldn't start, with all the symptoms of a dead battery. i jumped it and got it running, left it running for about 45 minutes, and then turned it off. wen;t to turn it back on and there was nothing, just the same as it was before i let it run to supposedly charge the battery.

at first i thought it was the alternator not charging, but then how would the car have run for 45 minutes with a bad alternator and no charge in the battery? could it be that the battery is just completely shot and won't hold any charge and the car was running off the alternator? i could use some help on this on asap before i go buying a new battery or anything. thanks.

If you have a multi-meter check the voltages but I guess you would have dont that already... might want to check the battery cells. If they're low on fluid you can try adding distilled water. Otherwise take it to autozone/advanceautoparts etc. They will check your battery/alt for free.

 

thanks for the help. i got it all fixed. it was a defective battery. it wouldnt hold any charge. now i know why my windows and sunroof havent opened and closed right and why my throttle has been a bit wierd lately. thanks again.
