Default pressure plate problem?????

Ok I have a fairly nice turbo set up and a brand new clutch set up...Action clutch kit. so it came with everything. I have about 1,600 miles on the clutch assembly and did the break in thing. I was driving around then caught a race with a another car. during a 4th gear booost the pressure plate, I believe it broke. the clutch lever moves quite freely and when I push in the clutch it will not disengage. but I can start it in gear and still drive it.

My questions are: does that sound about right...that the pressure plate broke??
And my other question is, does any company make a stronger pressure plate..or would that be a full clutch assembly, like a twin disc or something like it?

Thanks in advance
