Ive been looking at different tools but what brands would you guys recomend. Im looking at outside micrometers, dial bore gauges, dial indicators, rod bolt stretch gauge. Ive seen that ARP on for the rod bolt stretch gauge, which looked like a guality piece.

how about this company ? Im going a builds for myself. This isnt what I do for a living. I want some nice stuff that is very accurate but it doesnt have to be extremely durable and last because like i said these tools arent going to be used day in and out.

I'm also in the market for a dial bore gauge and a couple of mic's.
I have the ARP stretch gauge and your right in thinking its a quality bit of kit. It's got a nice bit of tension on the spring.
And also have a HVTEC degree kit from Mike Belben which is highly recomended

so that stuff is pretty accurate ? Im looking at an ecconomy micrometer set, the word ecconomy kinda scares me though.
never used those economy micrometers but i'm sure they are accurate just make sure you have them checked every so often to make sure they are still measuring within spec. Mitutoyo is high quality stuff compared to the economy ones they sell.
