Pr3 vs P72 heads
I have a 94 Gsr motor that i am rebuilding. I found the cam journals on my p72 head are scored so i found a guy with a "Pr3" head. He said it's from a 2001 integra. How much different is this head from the P72? I also have a Blox intake manifold for a gs-r soo im kinda stumped wheather not to buy this. I think the years of compatability are 94-01 right?
Thanks H-T

a 94-01 intake manifold from a gsr won't fit a PR3 head. Only the older gsr (b17) intake manifolds will fit b/c it uses a pr3 head. The bolt pattern is different.
Ask your machine shop if they think line honing the cam journals will fix the problem.

the type r head is a pr3 casting with some improvement on flaws.
Different lma's, cams and valves are used.
P72 head has a different intake manifold bolt pattern, smaller chambers that allow for more quench, different exhaust port and intake port angle is a little diff..
