Default pr3 ecu question

Is there any way to tell by the numbers and letters on the outside? I know you can pop the outer case off and look inside for AT or MT, but I was wondering if you could tell by anything on the outside. I noticed some say AA, AP, and AN on the outside, but I don't know if these have anything to do with it being auto or manual. Thank in advance.

A lot of them, instead of having PR3-J5X or PR3-J0X, they say PR3-003. Any ideas?
