I just purchased a PR3-3 1999 head and was wondering what’s the best block to use on it? Also is this a type R head?

 

There was no 1999 ITR cylinder head available here in the US. So if it is in fact an ITR head casting, it would have to be from over-seas. Now, something to consider: Both a B16A and an ITR cylinder head start out as the same casting... the ITR simply has better valves, dual valve springs, bigger cams and a slight bowl cleaning at the short radius just inside the valve face compared to the B16A. If you add dual valve springs and Titanium retainers, performance valves, bigger cams and fully porting and polishing the intake and exhaust runners... is it either a B16A or ITR head ? The answer is no... it is a PR3 head casting that has been vastly improved.

 

Thanks for the info.. any ideas on a block to match? I hear a b20b block is a good one?

 

Also came with dual Springs on the intake and exhaust but can’t be sure their oem
