Default Power steering fluid, only use honda!!!

I just thought ill'd let every one know who reads this but only use honda power steering fluid. I picked up some other fluid (dealer was closed) that said it was made for acura/honda and acutally saying that it meets or is better then oem standards. So i thought why not ill try it.

well guess what my pump made a really bad almost grinding noise. I only ran it like that for about 5mins hopeing it was just air in the lines sence there was alot of bubbies and foaming in the fluid. after the 5mins i gave up and drained the fluid. I went down to the honda dealer the next day and picked up some honda oem power steering fluid.

The pump is now quite as can be and there wasnt even any foaming or bubbles at all when i put the oem honda fluid in.

I just thought ill'd you guys know sence i search honda-tech for the problems i was having, but nothing really came up.

to honda power steering fluid

Non-Honda power steering fluid will also make the rack leak and fire to rain from the sky. Really though, only use Honda power steering fluid, as the system isn't compatable with anything else, no matter what the bottle at Walmart says.

For Honda PS fluid from Walmart should be ok, basically Honda PS fluid is different in the following area:

Thicker (higher viscosity)
Contains antiwear additives (like the one in your engine oil, Zn, P, Ca, Mg)

If you don't use it, the pump will gradually wear out and leak.

But since Honda isn't charging much more than Walmart (3.29 vs 2.99), I would rather go for Honda.

I am not sure we're getting the full picture here. If I am sitting on 3 gallons of non returnable Pentosin but no longer own a European marque and I am replacing Honda ps parts...if I flush what Honda has and install Pentosin ..wouldn't it be okay? Both fluids are almost allegedly identical chemically...no?
