Default Power loss after idling a while????

Hi, my car has developed this problem. If the car has been sitting at traffic lights for a few minutes and then i take off, the car feels like it has absolutely no power at all. I put my foot down further and the RPM goes up really slowly. Theres like a huge loss of power between 1000 and 3000rpm. I can describe it like the timing is severely retarded. Its like a slug and is not responsive at all. I doubt its heatsoak from to the intake pipe because it is wrapped and the filter is close to the hole behind the headlight. Problem only happens when the car has been idling for a few minutes.

Help

i would check your timing first......then i would check your oil pressure and fuel pressure...your oil pressure and fuel pressure are lowest during idle
