you can use the fc commander to program it, as well as a pc & apexi's power excel software, but...the software/ pc interface is in japanese, correct? if the software was in english and more dyno shops were given seminars by apexi on tuning the power fc,, what would be the remaining weak links to the power fc?

The commander only does voltage correction (ala AFC) you can only make
changes to the fuel maps with the powerXL software which you cant get.
To put it simply, the powerFC is a pretuned ECU with a VAFC built in.
If the tune inside doesnt work well for your motor, then the FC isnt gonna do
anything for you.

xs engineering says-" The optional Power FC commander allows complete tuning of the vehicle with an easy to use keypad. Tuning Parameters include: ignition timing map, air flow meter signal adjustment, injector pulse timing adjustment, boost control, acceleration enrichment compensation, fuel/ ignition test, ignition cranking fuel adjustment, water temperature correction, rev-limiter control. All parameters of the vehicle including water temp. oil temp, oil pressure cna be monitored from the display. " im just trying to understand this- what else would you manipulate other than voltage values? voltage values is what all the sensors work off of...so if you have a plug and play unit, like this or the aem, what would you beable to do that would be superior to voltage manipulation.

its completely tunable like previous statements. they recommend only apexi dealers do the tuning. to my understanding its much better then the aem ems allthough i think u can do more with the ems system. they claim its better because it comes with a base program instead of nothing like the aem which means much more money and time towards tuning. this is just what i have been told from a dealer who tunes both. and im sure somone will say well they just want u to buy the other one ...well why would that be its 500 dollars cheaper. and u save 350 if u dont buy the fc commander with it cause u really dont need it unless u plan on tuning it yourself. otherwise the dealer will use their own plus a laptop to set it up
without powerxl laptop software and interface its useless.
All a trade off.
A nice product IMO. Although, the cons would be that fact that many tuners dont have a good understanding on it thus making it hard to adjust. I would recommend Hondata because of the sheer fact that there are MANY tuners with decent understanding of this system. -HIT

My perosnal preference to the power FC is tuning on the fly and no need to reburn chips. That is a minor issue though.
