So i was just about to buy my friends 240sx coupe and come to find out he got in a front end accident. im pissed. so basically the bumper and fenders are not crushed but was hit from about the hood latch and up cumbleing the hood and radiator support. now i wanted to do a silvia conversion anyway but is this too much?is this worth fixing or should i just screw it? ill probably offer him like 300-$400 for it if its fixable...maybe weld in a new support?

because im asking as a universal question if this is possible with any car.
so, it is possible? do you know if its worth it or too much of a bitch to do?
i can get this car for $200. i was gonna get the silvia front conversion anyway so all im really concerned about is this bent support..

My lower rad support on my GSR got rather bent up from an off course at Pocono. The replacement was around $100 and took about 1/2 day to replace. Had to take off the front bumper and assorted other stuff. Then drill out, grind, chisel off the spot welds. Fit up the new part, drill some holes to plug weld it in, clean up everything and add some paint. Then put everything back together.
I have zero idea how the front structure of a 240 is built. You say rad support in one place and bumper support in another. I don't know if the supports in that car are part of the main unibody structure or just spotwelded on like the Integra.
Knowing if it's a good idea on that car would require seeing pics, knowing how the body is built, knowing what parts are available, and knowing what your skills are. I have none of those so cannot judge.

Like the other guy said. We don't know about that car. Ask Nissan people there's lots of them.
Also it depends on the extent of the damage. The unibody can be straightened or cut and replaced, or it may be too damaged to fix.
I replaced mine on my Civic. I cut the front end of a junkyard Civic, and had it welded in place of my crushed one.

Probably because there is no 240SX forum. As for replacing the radiator support, you probably can. Typically, the radiator support is spot-welded onto the frame rails. You would need to cut out the spot welds and have a new one welded on.
