Default possible to Identify Transmission by number??

heres the deal. i got an H22 Swap for my civic. I have run into a few problems. the Hasport mounts dont line up to the trans correctly. the flywheel was different, and did not accept the prelude/accord clutch. we solved this by mounting a used accord flywheel and everything went together fine. it seems that this trans may not be a 92-95 prelude trans, even though it came installed with the H22, and appeared to be in working order.

the motor is DEFINATLY a 92-95 H22A. the trans is a 5spd, and looks very very close to the prelude trans, other than the mounts being different.

is there any way to be 100% sure of what trans. i have?? any ID numbers or anything on the trans?

the label on the tranny right on the front with the bar code will tell you what tranny it is.

many times that tag is missing. see 'em all the time. sucks for him if that's the case.

there should be 4-5 characters at the beginning. post those up and we'll ID it. the bunch of numbers after that is the ID code from the factory after it was assembled. honda might be able to reference that and find out which VIN# it came from, if you cared.

The code on the barcode tag- H2A81002185
from what i have been able to dig up so far, looks like its from a 90-91 accord H2A8 trans.

Sound right??

well the case on this is slightly different, and WILL NOT bolt up to my mounts in the car. the flywheel is also different, and im told the gear ratios in this trans is extremely high.

Apparently what i need is the M2F4 for my 92-95 H22A. what a nightmare this trans has caused.

the company i bought my swap from is hooking me up with another trans. They want me to let them know what code i want, however i dont have a way to identify them. so far i have come up with little info.

i have the options of :

M2A4
M2B4
M2J5
M2J8

i would like to know what the difference in these transmissions so i can figure out what exactly i need to get from them to get this car on the road.

thanks in advance
