Default PLW wireing & which power source

OK Hondata reccoments using switched live form the fusebox and the same reference ground as the PLX, but PLX devices reccomend using power & ground from the ecu feed line as close to the ecu as possible so they can have the same reference ground & voltage.

What have you guys hooked it upto and did you use Hondata to compensate the voltage difference to get the readings equal?

The power can be from any +12v switched power source. Doesn't matter where.
The ground should be at the ECU. Having a distant ground "supposedly" causes the display to read .1 or .2 off.

PLX highly discourages using the cig lighter power as an example. because of voltage variations.

If you want to nit-pick and do everything as perfect as possible:

1. Splice the ground wire into the ECU ground.

2. Go to radio shack and buy a 12v automotive relay:

3. Run a +12v power wire from the positive terminal of your battery to the relay

4. Wire an inline 5-amp fuse into the power wire

5. Ground the relay to anything you want. There are lots of random places under the dash to ground it to.

6. Power the relay with any +12v switched power. I personally used the power wire from the cigarette lighter because it already has a spade terminal on it that plugs directly into the relay.

7. Connect the PLX power wire to the relay output.

Voila.

anyone else with an opinion on this, the above idea is ok but I wouldnt need the relay as i could instead use a swiched +12v from the fusebox. I just want to hear what other people have done for their setups!
