Please help! Piece of foil in my engine
hi guys, i feel like a total dumbass. i was changing my oil and when i was removing the foil/plastic seal from the oil bottle a pretty big piece of it fell in the bottle, i told myself no big deal, i'll be real careful when i pour the oil in the engine.... well i wasn't careful enough and that piece of foil/plastic seal went in my engine!!
so what i'm thinking about doing is not doing any thing until tomorrow so that maybe it will fall into the oil pan. my main concern is that what if it doesn't, what should i do? should i replace the oil pan gasket if i do remove the oil pan?
if this has ever happened to any one please help me out.

no need for a flame suit. .**** happens. take off the valve cover and see if it is still in the top end. if not then drain your oil and see if it comes out. after that then take the pan off and check the pickup. if it is not in or on any of those then it is probably stuck in a passage.
I agree, chit happens, as long as you did not start the engine, and depending on the size of the piece, it is a good bet it is still up under the valve cover. 94
