Please help with my tuning issue.
This is a long story that I'm going to try to make short. 00si w/ 9:1 JE pistons & Crower rods...the rest of the long block is stock. T3/T4e with all of the supporing features including AEM EMS. Best run on the dyno @ full boost (which will only reach 14psi) = 215whp. I believe it should be over 300whp. Compression is 135 (+/- 5). Seems low, but consistent. What seems strange to me is that the motor seems to want crazy amounts of timing advance. Base timing is correct and in sync with EMS. I was at 24deg adv at 10psi well into vtec with minimal knock counts and no audible ping. Idle and driveability seem a little sluggish, but not rough or uneven. Could it be possible that just one of the cam gears is retarded a tooth? I would think if both were I'd sense it as a rough idle...? Any other suggestions? Car burns a noticible amount of oil on idle, but clears up when driving.
