please HELP ME!!
Im not sure what the problem is but when i start my car up I hear a annoying squeaking noise comming from near the pullys somewhere. Then when I step in on the clutch the rpms drop a little bit and the car seems like its struggling to stay on and then when i begin to drive the car for a little bit the rpms just drop and the car stalls. I have no c.e.l on and I dont think the clutch is bad either. what could that annoying sound and the problem be?
might be one of your belts...
maybe tighten them/check for wear...
get someone else to start teh car wehilst you watch where the noise comes from...

it sounds like 2 seperate problems
the sqealing is probably the alternator belt being too loose/tight
the other one could be the IACV (idle air control valve)

If it was the IACV wouldnt my cel be on? Im thinking it might be the alternator belt also, how would i go about fixing this problem? thanks alot for the input guys
ICAV *SHOULD* throw a CEL but it might not.
it dosent hurt to pull it and inspect it.
and as for the alternator belt. it shoulod have about .25-.4 inches of deflection on the upper side of the belt just past the middle twords the alternator. you put 20lbs of pressure on the belt in the middle on the upper side.
what all that means is only let the belt move about half an inch when you are pushing down on it. if it still makes the sound, its trial and error, tighten, then loosen, then repeat.

i went into the garage thinking i was gonna get a little dirty but i started the car up and everything sounded normal, no more annoying squeaking sound. So, I opened the garage and pulled her out and began driving thinking that it would stall out just like it did this morning but the funny thing is it ran perfectly fine and normal. So im baffled by the whole situation now because I dont know if god answered my prayers or what
.Should I still be worried and try to fix it or just keep driving around like it never happend. The only logical explanation I have is that its about 20 degrees colder then it was this morning, maybe the cold could have tightened up the alternator belt or god answered my prayer

lol my friend had a geo metro that squelled like a lil piggy whenever he started it and it ended up being his timing belt we used to lift up the front end about an inch of the ground and drop it to make it stop haha it was such a peace!
