PLEASE HELP IDING A TRANNY
just got a b series tranny i was told that it was a ls how can you tell with no letters or numbers on the out side of the tranny

if you are mechanically inclined enough, then open it up and count some teeth. with it in the car, check the rpms vs speed. besides that there isn't much you can do. assume it's a ls cuz it's not like you can be getting anything below a ls spec tranny...anything above, such as a gsr or b16, and you are lucky unless you opted for the ls specs.

if you do open it up or have someone open it up, i have teeth counts for all the gears. or you can just do a little math if you got the ratios. of course, there are quicker ways to tell by looking at the line code at the end of the gears.
