My car died on me, luckily in my driveway. As soon as my friend hooked up the jumper wire to read a CEL. I thought it was EGR because it comes on after a while, but the car started back fireing and popping out. The CEL was egr and the poping out turned out to be timing jumping a tooth, most likely a bad tensioner giving out at high rpms. but I'll fix that when and if I can figure out why my car died. Here's the low down. Fixed timeing and checked compression, 230 in each. have fuel at the pump, at the rail and injectors are pulsing, even switched between 450 DSM's and factory. Tried three ECU's 2p13's and a p72. have spark in every cylinder and firing order is correct. Have switched everything including a known good distrib, plug wires and plugs, risistor pack, ecu's and even a known good wiring harness from my friend's H22- eg that's currently down. checked every fuse and even took off alarm to see if that would help. My car just cranks all day but wont start. Has this ever happened to anyone please help please. I'm suppost to be a mechanic.
