please explain this to me...vaccum lines
Hey, i bought this car a couple weeks ago, and im not real sure what all these lines are for, and how they affect the car.
The car was boosted for a period of time, and im assuming thats why some lines arent connected, or tapped off.
Im throwing a cel 45, and have checked o2 sensors, and still working on that.
I know what the cel means, fuel system problem, so im assuming that one of these lines may have an impact on that problem. Rough idle as well, droping and spiking, partially taken care of with the 02 sensors.
Anyway, lemme know what the deal is with each hose if you dont mind.
Couple pics of each.
Thanks

The first pic is a picture of a crankcase ventilation hose, that won't have any effect on anything.
Not sure about the others.. Have you replaced all the vacuum hose? Also, look for vacuum ports on the intake manifold, throttle body that are uncovered. This problem can be fixed with small rubber boots you can buy at autozone.

looks like a lot of your hoses are not connected, if you dont know what you are doing take it to the dealer/shop. The first one is the crankcase ventilation and that is important to vent the combustion blowby gases that get in the crankcase
thirday and fourth pics are your IAB. that hose shouldn't be blocked off i cant really see in the pictures but it looks like its connected to the IACV. But again i cant really tell. The IAB valve should be connectect to your Emissions canister under the Intake manifold (the little black canister directly under the IM, you cant really see it but its there if you feel for it) its held in plac eby two clip type things but you can just pull it out towards the driver side fender and it will slide right out. The other hoses look like cooling lines, wouldn't worry about that too much. And the first pic is just a line that connects to your intake tubing, nothing that would effect performance. Good luck, wish i could help more
