Planning ahead
One of my friends has a 2003 BMW m3, and i want to make speed like that in a Honda, so i can keep up with him. I am wondering if i could do this for under 10 grand including the car. I figure a 93-95 eg hatch - 3000
b16a-1600 w/ LSD
Header, exhaust, high-flow cat, air intake- 1100
Strip interior- o
miscellanious parts-500
wheels tires and coilovers- 1200
shortshifter- 100
cams, timing gears- 500?
body work- 600
new seats- 800
chipped ecu- 400
The car would be a daily driver, but i would probably only keep the front two seats. I would prob stay NA because a turbo kit would cost to much. I'm guessing i need the weight to be around 2000-2200 lbs and i would like the horsepower to be around 220 with torque around 150. I dunno if these numbers will get me 13 second times, but if someone with similar set-ups would like to give me hints or pointers.

Quickest way to keep up with the M is a wet 100 shot of blow. (blow your stock motor up)
That 2003 M3 may be heavy by about 1300 lb, but it has 330 hp and great weight displacement for great traction, and close ratio 6 speed. You probly wont get there without some sort of FI or NOs, and then opening the motor and putting some solid parts inside to make it last. This is learned from experience from playing with other M's. If its a SMG transmissions it wont last, but they sure can shift.
Good luck
