Default piston ring placement

I just wanted to know which compression ring goes where. There is a fatter one and skinny one. I looked at one of my old pistons with rings still on it and the skinny one was on top. I just wanted to verify and make sure thats how they are placed. And I know I should get a helms. Thanks in advance
