Default PISTON RING END GAP

Hey guys just trying to figure out the rule of thumb on ring end gap. The motor is a b18b i just purchased standerd bore rings and want to check the end gap of the rings just to make sure they dont crack when they expand.

Put the ring in the bore, and push it flat with the crown of the piston and measure end gap with a feeler gauge.

First Ring: .008"-.014"

Second Ring: .016"-.022"

Oil Rings: .008"-.020"

Ok thanks now do you think its normal for a high mileage motor to have greater ring gap?

Ring gap will grow a small amount, more due to cylinder wear than the rings.
