Default Piston install help/adviced needed!

I'm pressed for time b/c I'm going off to college soon and I really wont have time to throw these CTR pistons in my car once I start school.

The main thing that only concerns me is rod bearings and clearance issues related with such.

I'm pretty sure I can install the pistons in 1-2 days. But I need to know if I can reuse the bearings. Is it not a good idea?

Also if I do replace them, what's the best way to measure clearence. Plastiguage or a Micrometer (friend told me this was easier)?

I suggest replacing the bearings.

i would always use new bearings, no matter what unless the motor has 5 miles on it. acl bearings work good and sell for about 100 bucks, they come with plastiguage and lubricant. use plastiguage when measuring tolerances between bearings and crank/rod journals. a good way to do this is:
have the pistons and rods/rings in already
have motor upside down to where you're looking down at the block
place the bearings on the innerside of the rods
place crank in, making sure not to scar the crank journals with the rod studs
cut strips of plastigauge and place them parallel with the crank on top of each rod and crank journal
put on the rod and main caps on
torque all caps to spec.
after that is completed then take all the caps back off and then use the tolerance guage that comes with the plastiguage.

i think thats it, it takes about 30min. to do with two 10min. smokes broke in between
