Default Pinging from Over REV

hey guys, i missed a shift the other night and over revved pretty bad....about 9-9100rpm....its a stock b16 valvetrain, and ever since then i noticed a quiet pinging at idle, and it keeps getting louder and louder....i was wondering if i could have had valve float or something and messed up a valvespring or valve....when i missed the shift i didnt hear any noises or anything....if someone could help me that would be cool....thanks
