garbage. If you're serious about breaking open your tranny, get a real LSD.

I've had one in my GSR tranny, and it was fine. It worked and I didn't have any problems with it. But on my new setup, I decided to go with a Quaife, not because I had any problems with the PG, but since my goals are 350-400 whps, I didn't want the PG to be a problem.

A lot of ppl here will talk **** about it, but decide for yourself, ask people who have actually had one and used it.

Well I am one of those that are going to tell I have never owned one. But H-T is a great source of information and I value the info. So anyhow I belive there is a high amount of negative comments about the Phantom Grip. I was going to buy one until I heard from reputable persons that this device is not good at all. If you plan on breaking your tranny then go ahead buy one. I guess it makes sense for a good LSd your looking at anywhere from 450- 1000 dollars. Pahntoms are going for about 250 which makes the product very hard to resist. Its up to you but I am only going with what I have heard over the wire.

People on HT tend to repeat what their "hear" so while most of the time, the info is pretty accurate, you have to figure some of these things out yourself.

I own one of these piles of garbage. Fortunately, it came with the transmission. Now, it's sitting in old of my old diff carriers on a shelf. Whenever I have time, it will be removed and sold.

The cost difference (about 400 bucks) between the PG and something like a Quaiffe or Kaaz is very little compared to the performance difference. Simply put, the PG didn't help me out.

Highly recommended to stay away from this product and anything that's like it. Instead, save an extra month or so and get the real deal.

You don't have to use one to know what it is. It's NOT a limited slip differential. It's 2 metal blocks sandwiching some heavy duty springs that works by putting undue pressure on the operating parts of your differential that were not designed to work that way. Does it acieve it's goal? Apparently. Does it seem like the an appropriate part to chose in the name of save a few hundred bucks when you consider the labor, materials and downtime associated with opening up a transmission? My opinion is no.

Keep this in mind.. the spider gears in the stock diff are weak.
The pg puts pressure on them.
Someone just posted blown tranny because of a spider gear broke.
I had a phantom grip, it works randomly.
Some call it the random grip

Ive had a quaife for a few years now.
sounds funny but.. if you take it off road you will appreciate what it can do on the road. Off roading with quaife is bad ***. It makes you wish you had 2 of them, rallying in an AWD Honda with a quaife in the rear as well

I have like 3 friends that have them in B16A trannies. They have lasted from abuse, and decent horsepower, but I don't trust them. I like my quaife much better, and its warrantied for life. I've also heard them called "random slip"
