PGMFI Relay?
i recently swapped in a d16a6...i started it up the first time and it ran...i didn't run it for too long but wanted to see if it worked and make sure fuel wasn't leaking
yesterday i tried to start it and nothing...i tried to jump it and still nothing...horn didn't even blow
i did not mess with any wires...so i checked the fuses and the battery fuse (60amp) and #37 PGMFI Relay (15amp) was blown so i replaced both and the same 15 amp kept on blowing (as soon as i put it in it blows [battery is connected])...what could be wrong?...could the relay (it is in the left side of the dash) be malfunctioning? [the chassis is an hf...did they come with a weaker relay?]...how does one track down this problem?
of note: since it started i know the injector wires were properly on (open pin side facing valve cover)

ok...i got a new battery fuse (60amp) and put it in and its fine...the car will turn over but not start
the 15amp fuse in the main fuse box (#37) blows as soon as i put it in (don't even have to start it...just have battery connected)...how do i problem shoot this?
thing is it started before and all i did was tighten the fuel line to the fuel rail b/c it was leaking a little

i've also checked all the grounds and hot wires which are all connected...the fuel injector wires are in the proper way
i pulled the main relay and it doesn't blow the fuse so the relay may have gone bad...so i'm going to the junkyard to get a couple relays from some other rexes (hf or si) and see if that fixes the problem

Looking at the wiring diagram in my crappy book, it looks like fuse 37 feeds the switched contact in the relay. What that means is the relay is only making the connection to the shorted circuit. The relay itself isn't the problem, unless something is really wacked inside it.
Anyway, that contact closure feeds two points on the ecu, plus provides the 12 volts through the injector resistors, to the injectors, and then the ECU completes the circuit to ground. You could try disconnecting the wire (yel/blk) to the injector resistor array and see if the fuse still blows. If it doesn't, check out the injector circuits.
If the fuse does blow, the problem lies with the wires (more yel/blk) to the ECU or the ECU itself.

If the fuse is blowing you have a dead short to ground somewhere on the circuit. Those can be a bitch to find but thats the only thing it can be. Looked for any obviously damaged or frayed wires.
I don't have my helms handy but if the only thing being fed from fuse #37 is the relay you can try bypassing it. If that solves the problem then just give the relay a 'new' fused +12v and bypass the stock wiring alltogether.

ok...i went to the junkyard and got another relay...now the fuse doesn't blow until i turn the key to start the engine
