permatex ULTRA BLACK hi-temp rtv silicone gasket maker worked when i swapped tb's. I think it's the same thing.
Most people consider Permatex Ultra Grey to be the Hondabond equivalent, but I always prefer to use the Ultra Copper (mainly because of it's slightly higher temperature range, but also because it's marketed by Permatex as a "higher-grade" sealant).

That's what I've been using. So far so good.

The Permatex ultra copper is all I use. Creates a perfect seal every time. Just apply, let dry until rubbery and put parts back together. Never failed once.

is permatex the same thing as hondabond? if so is there a certain type? Hondabond vs. Permatex
Permatex did a middling job on both fronts. When I need to get the job done right, Hondabond is still king of the garage.
