PDL/PW conversion to manual?
Anyone know of a successful conversion from PDLs and PWs to manual windows and manual door locks, namely on an DC2? I've searched for the past two days on here, TI, nwp, and even google and found nothing. I was guessing one could take the guts from an EG or something and back-engineer it to fit the teg doors.
Any help is much appreciated.

Well you don't have to do much to the PDLs to make them manual - just unplug the wiring from the actuator and the relay in the door. However, I have to laugh a little bit because your only weight savings is going to be a few hundred grams for both the relay and the wiring. Honestly, it doesn't weigh much. And you've created greater inconvenience for yourself.
The weight "savings" from going to a manual window setup will be negligible as well. The power and manual window actuators (move up and down) will weigh about the same. So your weight savings is going to come from the removal of your door wiring and the switches.... so maybe a pound or two. First, though, you'll have to check your door frame to see if it can accommodate a manual window actuator. The giveaway will be if there's a hole that the window crank post-thing can fit through. (A 5th Gen Civic door frame can accommodate both a manual and electric actuator. Note also that the bolt locations that hold it on are in different places.) A manual actuator for a 2/3dr 5th Gen Civic should in theory work, given that an electric actuator from a 3dr Integra will mount on the Civic.
You should post a picture of the door with the panel off so I can see if it can accommodate the manual actuator, though I suspect that after reading all of this post you'll abandon the idea.

With regards to the weight savings, I'm aware what is to be saved and honestly, I don't care. I'm drilling pointless pieces out of my POS such as the rear seat mounts, speaker mounts, and hell I'm even drilling out holes in my bumper to save weight. And the amount wiring in the door is actually substantial with respect to the amount of freaking mechanics that's in the door, let alone the motors themselves. Moreover, the wires that can be removed from the harness itself is also quite substantial. Overall savings (from both sides of the car) including motors and wiring to be had is over 10lbs IMO.
As for the manual windows, no dc2 model had a manual crank and therefore does not have said hole to fit the crank, however there's nothing a little drill-action won't fix. I think your recommendation from the 5th gen civic is probably my best bet. Time to go junk-yardin when the weather breaks.
