Default Passing Smog. need some input guys!

Just got my new engine the other day. Have a newbie question, not sure some of you know my engine setup.....
b16 head
b18c block
pr3 SiR mani and tb
usdm header
stock ls cat-back exhaust
stock b18c cams
stock b18c pistons (but planning to slap on p30 pistons)

With all this, will I be able to pass smog? Or am I a#* out? Apperciate your input in the guys.

You'r car should have no problem passing smog. You don't have a fpr, oversized pistons, no headwork I wouldn't sweat it at all. Don't tell them anyhting about the different parts from other motors you should be cool.

I thought it was illegal to run a hybrid motor. Like a LS/VTEC or CRV/VTEC. I dont know

I have "heard" of people who have passed LS/VTEC's even the smog ref's have given out BAR stickers to LS/VTEC's.

N-E-Way, Just take it in like it is a stock engine. Further questions see my signature.

you say you have a USDM header? you need to clarify if that's a US aftermarket header or a stock exhaust manifold you speak of. If it is a header....I suggest you put a stock b-series cast-iron exhaust manifold on..it totally helps pass smog if you have one of those on.

also, you should run a stock P28 ecu (yes, on your b18c engine). Supposedly those work way good in passing on the smog dyno.

Spade takes a mental note.

This car will NOT pass. The number that the ref looks at is the engine block number. And when they see that you have a B18C, they will look for all the B18C related hardware. They probably will not notice the head. But they will certainly notice that you are not running the B18C dual stage intake manifold. They will also notice the two, single wire oxygen sensors on the exhaust manifold when there should be just one four wire oxygen sensor on the downpipe before the cat. And, of course, they will see that the check engine light functions differently with the PR3/PW0 that with the P72. Only if you are VERY lucky will this motor pass at a California referee station.
