Default Is a P72 head a type r head????

i'm gonna buy this p72 head and the guy i'm getting it from said it's a type r head. when i repeatedly try to tell him it's a gsr head cause of the p72 stamp. am i wrong or is he bs'ing?

did the p73 head only come in usdm and not jdm? he said compression of the motor the head came out is a 10:6 which he said is the same as the type r jdm.

any info would be greatly appreciated.

The P72 head is definitely a GS-R head. The USDM ITR was rated at 10.6:1 compression as was the JDM SiR (GS-R equivalent). The best way to tell is to look at the combustion chamber. A GS-R's will have "flat" tops and bottoms where as an ITR head will have a circular combustion chamber. The pic below is of a (modified) P72 GS-R head, but you can see the combustion chamber shape I'm talking about:
