Default P28 Ecu question...

Alright, so I have a P28 ecu that I pulled out of a 93 Del Sol SI and the car I bought didn't have a motor in it, and I have since parted out most of the car but I want to test the ecu... I just want to make sure I can essentially go and plug it into any other Del Sol SI, or Civic SI/EX and see if it works right?? Are there any particular things to look for when testing it or is it as simple as plug in my ecu and if it starts the car and runs everything then it works??

With that said though... Does anyone who's reading this live in the Nashville area?? haha cause I don't have a Del Sol or Civic to test this out on...

Thanks a bunch for any help.

if you have the motor set up plug it in and see if it runs well as long as your motor is connected right and nothing is missing it should start up and run fine if it runs like **** then my bet would be find another ecu but simple as that you should find out in the first min lol

Wait, I thought a 92 DelSol Si used a P30, [92-95 OBD DelSol DOHC Vtec Si/EG SiR ]
and the P28 was for 92-95 Civic SI/EX??? 94

Well that's what I thought too.. everything I have seen says P30 ecu.. unless I am not reading the label correctly on the ecu then it's a P28.. and it was a Del Sol Si but that's what was bolted into the vehicle when I bought it, so how it wound up in that vehicle then I have no idea.. maybe the previous owner did a motor swap before or something like that but the picture is of my ecu..

The del sol si had the d16z6 while the del sol vtec had a b16. At least here in the USA.

Both VTEC engines, and Mithell ondemand indicates only the P30, however both the P30 and P28 are OBD1 ECUs, not sure what the diff. is. 94
