Default P0740 code on 2001 Acura TL 3.2 V6

I know the code stands for the TCC malfunction, but what exactly does this mean?
Could the torque converter clutch be stuck? And can someone help me point out the torque converter clutch? Thanks in advance

Either the TCC solenoid is crap or your trans is fu@!ed. The TCC locks the converter "halves" together to maximize fuel efficiency, and is located inside the converter. From my experience with these transmissions, chances are the trans is NG. Have you received a notice from Acura about a trans cooler for 2nd gear install/update? Cause if you didn't have that done(if you were supposed to), I'm going with the whole trans is fu@!ed approach.

I know thats what im thinking also, you see the car belongs to my mother she bought it at an auction about 2 weeks ago. She knew it had a check engine light and just now she told me that the trans wont even shift to 3rd gear. So yeah im almost certain that tranny is crap.

Call an Acura dealer and see what they say.
