Default P06 or P73 for JDM ITR

I just brought my car to the mechanic because of a starting issue and after he fixed it he said he put my old P06 ECU in instead of the JDM p73 ecu that came with the engine. He said the p73 ecu has no rev limi and that I would blow my engine. Is this true? Seems kinda odd the ecu that came with the engine would do that. My car feels restricted and kind of boggy when I drive. He also suggested I get a chipped p28 ecu.

So basically would it be safe and better for me to just run my p73? If it does no damage id rather hook that back up.

so he's saying the ecu that came with the engine is no good for it? find a new mechanic.
