bcos i juz done engine swap on my car. swapping zc to a jap spec b16a. and my mechanic juz told me that my O2 oxygen have to change but did not told me that the VTEC is not working.

my vtec worked without the o2 connected. for sure, your engine will be running rich

VTEC will work. I drove around for over a month with the O2s disconnected, VTEC worked fine.

Hell, I wasn't even getting a CEL and even when I DID get a CEL VTEC still worked fine.

your o2 sensor check engine light shouldnt come on right away. it should come on after driving in 3 rd gear and deaccelerating (i think that was the gear). if the light comes on right away, maybe you should look to see if something else is wrong. what code are you getting and what ecu are you using?

My o2 is curently bad and i have a cel, but Vtec is still strong as hell.

3rd gear check engine light is for oxygen sensor? damm i gotta replace mine thanx for the tip lol now..which O2 sensor fits for the jdm b16

well what motor and generation motor are you running? check the ecu to see what codes its throwing. thats the only way youre gunna find out.

yea im runnin no o2 sensor right now and VTEC works perfect, just running rich as hell and sometimes the car is VERY laggy under 3k rpm.

just swapped my gsr into my hatch w/ no o2 at all and it runs strong......and yes......vtec is good

ii have no o2 sensor either.......but the CEL come son for it and u can tell its laggin like a lil bitch sometimes and running rich as hell.

Alright if youre running an obd1 ecu no vtec will not be affected but if its obd2 it will put it into limp dick mode
