Took my car to a mechanic to get the ac recharged.....while he was checking the A/C system it overheated and blew my whole overflow bottle out..........how hot do you think he got it? What should I check to make sure my engine is alright?? No white smoke out the tail pipe but ive read other posts with HG probs and no white smoke.... Also now when I turn on the A/C the engine idles fine but revs SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOO slow almost to the pointwhere its impossible to accelerate with it on..what could be wrong with the system? Compressor has to much drag? Car runs like normal with A/C off.....

 

Maybe now that the system is charged the drag is simply caused by the fact that it's working? AC takes a lot of power to run.

 

after letting everything cool to ambient and re-running the car the AC seems much more drivable........im turbo now so underhood temps are crazy high but what effect is a hot turbo having on my AC system?

 

I need to get my a/c looked at too, seems as if it is about to go out any day now, though i would like to know what effect an a/c system has on a turbo.
