After I recently installed my short shifter I was in third gear, when I went to put it in forth, I hit second gear, and the rpm's went to about 9200 i then pushed the cluth in. it been almost 5000 miles since this happened. i hav a '00 civic si.

Should I worry about this?

 

yes, is any smoke comming out of your exhaust white or black?

 

no, And it doesn't use any oil.

 

If your car still idols fine...then it should be fine...if that doesnt ease you..take it to a local automotive shop and have them to a compression test....then you will know for sure...if all else fails pull the valves and put them on a power drill and spin...you will definatly see warpage then...

 

An when he says idol he means idle...hehe.

If it's been about 5k miles, then I wouldn't worry.

 

dude the b16a2s are strong... and if its been that long and no smoke it shuld be fine like he said...
