Default Open header

Ok caution super newb:

Is it alright if i detach the exhaust pipe that is connected from the header to the cat conv and drive around town.

I know its loud and illegal but can it cause any engine damage?

If the oxygen sensor is close to the exhaust opening, it'll produce false lean readings by the oxygen sensor and subsequently affect the closed-loop feedback fuel trimming.

I'm not 100% sure that the colder air on the exhaust valves is a true phenomenon to worry about with just an open header. Maybe if the header had strong scavenging qualities without anti-reversion.

This the same guy that wants to **** of his girlfriend? If it is, get a life.

Edit. It is. Dude C'mon

This is true, if you run your car for longer then 5 mins the valves will be so hot that when you turn it off the cold air will bend them. Metal expanes and contracts.

wow....after everyone saying about the girlfriend thing; i search and saw what they are talking about...

Dude you will learn that stupid revenge like that its only going to hurt you. They are going to laugh at you..and never look back.
you on the other hand are going think about it-talk about it.. dont hold on and let it go.
Everyone goes through **** like that in their life. you live to learn.
Its called life and gaining experience.

See? now you know one more ''kind'' of woman. there is plenty more..better ones.

As far as open header hurting the motor..it will not do anything to the car; only your ears.
the whole cold air and hot valve thing is a stupid myth....maybe if you run NO header..

Five minutes, ok, not true. Everytime I do a swap, it usually drives open header from my shop to the muffler shop 12 miles away without non-law related problems.
