Default Ok the next steps on a b16a build up

I am buying some stuff today for my b16a swap into a 91 civic Si. What cams should I go with for good daily driving but still give me that extra oomfff, should I just stick with a ctr intake and leave the si-r exhaust, buy both ctr cams, or another after market product, spoon or toda, something of that nature? I am sending the computer out to be reprogrammed, cold ait intake, exhaust, ITR intake manifold, port matched throttle body to 68mm. Thanks for any input all.

ok just stick with r cams they are the easiest cams to tune and even thuogh aftermarket cams usually are not unrealiable but the less aggresive by just a little is the r cams. go to all motorhonda.com to be surprised by the aggresiveness of the itr/ctr cams.

If you want to adjust your VTEC engagement get a Hondata ecu. Sure they are a little pricey but, they are great!

you can't go wrong with ANY 'R' cams at all. ITR/CTR - OEM cams rule. They make more power than stock dohc vtec cams anyways, and it's best to have both 'R' cams to gain full power from these cams -- but for maximum power, adjustable cam sprockets+ an ECU upgrade+ a fuel/vtec controller+ some dyno tuning will yeild the best outcome of power from the cams on your engine.

good deal all, Thanks for the info and katman I am sending my ecu to you. I guess I will get the both of the ctr cams and a clutch, thanks for all the input.
Do you think I should upgrade the vavletrain, like the springs and such as well? Just to be safe, right?

Hey 91SiFreak,

Where are you in O-Town? I'm in Mt. Dora down 441. Maybe we can meet somewhere. Are you getting your parts locally? If so, where and what kind of prices I might jump on your upgrading bandwagon and blow some $$$.

I already have an ITR manifold as well, with a port matched throttle body to the same bore as the ITR, so I have that covered, found one for cheap and got it before all else. Hey Pelo i work of 441 and go to racing works for minor parts and order most but e-mail me.
