oil in sparkplug cylinder?

oil in sparkplug cylinder?

i recently changed my oil,and i when i pulled the third sparkplug i noticed oil on the plug. i was told that this could be due to bad piston rings? is this true.....or am i being mislead?(can it be something else)

That's one of the causes, another is a leaky valve seal.

It's more likely to be a leaking spark plug tube seal on the valve cover.
