so i spun a bearing in my ls vtec, it had a brand new oil pump in it, upon taking engine apart i found a bunch of metal fragments in oil and in bottom of oil pan, my question is if ran through parts washer and rinsed out well is the pump reusable on different engine? or is it to late to save this pump

 

if you really want to reuse it, you're gonna have to pull it apart and check clearances as specified in the service manual.
