Default Oil Pressure Light

On my friends jdm b18c motor, when he goes to start the car, the oil pressure light would stay on for a second or two after the engine starts. This only happens after the car has been sitting for a while, after the oil has settled into the pan again. Is this normal? He is using synthetic oil, 5w30 I think.

The firt two seconds are bulb check and if the light stays on then it indicates oil pressure lost. But yes it is normal. It is just a bulb check.

Ok...but when the car is warm and the oil hasn't settled, the light goes out right after the the engine starts. It's only when the car has been sitting that the light stays on (for a few seconds) AFTER the engine has started.
