I just finished my LS Vtec swap on my 89 civic hatch. I've had a partial tune (need bigger injectors). Before the swap I had just redone the breaks up front, including brembo crossdrilled rotors, oem rebuilt calibers, and hawk pads. It also has stainless steel lines.
Problem is under hard breaking the oil light flips on. Second time it happened the engine shut off. Seems like when I'm at high RPMs (still running LS 6.8k redline for now) and hit the breaks abruptly after letting off the gas it gets starved of oil.
One other thing to mention is that the idle isn't adjusted well....even tries to idle down at 590 sometimes.
The car doesn't weigh but 2100 lbs and stops real quick. Wonder if the GSR oil pan is up to the task. (yea it's GSR cause I put a main girdle on it)

Yea that's the first thing I thought is maybe all the oil is actually pushing forward, away from the pick-up and causing a short starvation period... I could be totally wrong... But I could see it happening...

Well I ended up checking my oil. I was about 1/2 a quart low. Through some reading on here I discovered that many people run their track car a 1/2 a quart full, and I have noticed in the past on my sis' LS integra(stock) and my LS swap is that they run a little smoother with a little extra oil.
That being said I threw a whole quart in and no more oil light, runnin smoother then a baby's ***.

Hmm... So what you are saying is that I'm pulling so much air from the intake while breaking that it is causing the system to lighten up the fuel mixture and leading to a too low to idle situation?
Not sure if thats what your eluding to. Even still, not sure how that would effect oil.
