you can leave or remove the unit.

you'll probably have to remove the unit along with the spacer that fits in-between the block and oil filter to make way for the oil cooler's spacer.

hopefully that makes sense...grab a Helms.

i understand. Well i bought a stock B16a1 oil cooler that is going to be sandwich'd between block and oil filter. obviously.

Then after i do that i read that i would need to tap a fitting on the block then run a hose to one of nipples on the oil cooler then run a hose from the second nipple on the oil cooler to the thermostat connecting pipe correct?

Well you said i can remove stock oil cooler on back of the b18a block (black box). But then what would i plug the hole up with?

alright, I'm lost haha.

I need a diagram.

edit\\ okay link didn't work. Basically, grab your Helms manual and the diagrams will show you. It's way to late for me right now.

the black box between the trany and oil filter is not oil cooler.oil cooler is in the oil filter.(between the block and filter.there is 2 fittings that should be conected to the black coolant pipe above the filter.if u using b18 block u have to change it w/the b16 coolant pipe.
