Default OEM Spoilers

How effective are OEM spoilers for our cars? Are they just for the look or have some function as well? I know that the Porsche cars have pretty functional rear spoilers. I've also heard that an F50 produces so much downforce that when driving over 200mph, it can drive upside down. I dont know how true that is though.

I would imagine so. Pretty much most of the exotics right? (The sport exotics that is, no Bently's and BS cars like that)
