I check with this source (http://tech.hybridgarage.com/tech/lsd/) but it doesn't include clear info for older style J1 ball bearing type bearings. I am wondering if I need to worry about shimming the diff bearing when installing an OEM LSD (from a J1) in my non-LSD J1.

Yes, it will need to be reshimed unless the measurement form the edge of each outter bearing is the same on both differentials (highly unlikely though).

Basicly what he is doing here but measure from the end of each bearing.

Where do I get the specs for the clearance on a cable tranny casing? Is it still 0.0-0.1mm?
