Default oem haedgasket mod

So I know that this has tended to be a pretty big debate, but! I was curious about what some of you think. I was looking to just buying a mugen 2 layer or equal but was considering possibly just doing the OEM gasket mod and take out the spacer layer. I just wanted to hear what some had to say about taking a layer out of an OEM and how well it worked as opposed to just paying more for the Mugen. The gasket would be going in a b16a2 99 civic si. I realize that when it comes to engines, quality is better then saving money but getting past that; if anyone has tried this and or just used an aftermarket 2 layer let me know how it has worked for them.

No one has anything to say about this modification? I've heard of many people doing it, but nothing about how well it has worked for them or if they regret doing it or not. I'm just worried about the gasket not sealing as well but I want to get a thinner gasket to raise the compression slightly, but I would like to save some money if possible. Come on guys.
