OEM CTR pistons & Eagle rods - possible?
OEM CTR pistons & Eagle rods?
I was told by a machinest that using the eagle rodS with the OEM CTR pistons does not work? As he was trying to explain to me that the floating wrist pin needs either rings to hold the wrist pin in place or go back to OEM rods.
Any solutions for being able to use my OEM CTR pistons with the eagle rods?
thanks,
Nate

sure there is; take it to another (good) machine shop; they can machine the pistons to accept the C- clips for the floating pistons
interesting, well i was told this but out here i dont know if there are any good enough machinest's who could do this with out messing up. but ill look into it thanks.
not worth the cost.... sell the ctr's and get some forged pistons that are stronger and lighter.
You could possibly get the rods rebushed so that they can be press fit. but again.... why?
crower sells bronze sleeves for doing this and it's aboug $80 for enough to do 4 rods. I think the shop I work at charges about $80 of labor to do this.
