OBD2B to OBD1 conversion and CEL 6 (Engine coolant temperature high/low circuit)
I ran a search but nothing seems to pertain to my problem.
I tried to convert my 2000 LS to OBD1 to see if any problems might arise. Well I have a problem, there's a check engine light for the ECT temperature circuit. To my knowledge the OBD2 diagnostic trouble code would be either P0117 (low circuit input) or P0118 (high circuit input). My car runs fine with the original OBD2 ECU, no codes. When I disconnected the ECT sensor there's no initial CEL, it's when I start the car, that's when the check light comes on. I'm guessing my ECU **** itself, but I know for a fact that it was in working order when it was given to me. Before I did this conversion I made sure the battery was disconnected.
Also there was strange pulsations coming from the exhaust with the conversion. There was a gas smell coming from the motor and I think the car was running rich. It seemed like it was idleing funny, but according to the rpm gauge everything was normal.
Here's what I'm trying to set up…
My car: 2000 LS.
Conversion harness: Skunk2
ECU: virgin P75 92-95 OBD1 LS/RS

My OBD-1 Integra certainly had an ECT sensor.
If you converted to OBD-1, how do you get OBD-2 error codes like P0117? You should only be able to get the flashing-CEL codes.

^Ooops, yeah those are OBD2 DTCs that I posted, you're correct. I get six flashes of the check engine light with the OBD1 ecu conversion.
I'm guessing it's either the skunk2 harness or the ECU. I'm doubting it's the harness though, it's brand new.
Thanks Jim Blake!
I don't know anyone with an OBD1 Integra, so I can double check if the ECU is working.
